The South Louisiana Bluegrass Festival, held the first weekend in April, turned out a great crowd with lots of good food, jammin' and entertainment. Despite the threat of rainy weather, bluegrass fans came out to hear great entertainment by Louisiana Purchase Bluegrass, The Saltgrass Band, Larry Cordle and Lonesome Standard Time, Ronnie Reno and the Reno Tradition and "King of Bluegrass" Jimmy Martin and the Sunny Mountain Boys. Below are a few highlights of the weekend caught on film!
Despite the sometimes inclimate weather, bluegrass enthusiasts gathered around the porches at Acadian Village in Lafayette, LA to jam with fellow music lovers.
Louisiana Purchase, SLBA's House Band, returned for a second season to a crowd of welcoming fans! Be sure and attend the SLBA monthly shows to catch more from this lively crew who knows what bluegrass is all about!
Saltgrass band provided several forms of entertainment throughout the weekend. If these guys weren't so good at playing bluegrass music, we'd tell them to hit the stand up comedy stage. They really know how to entertain a crowd!
Ronnie Reno and the Reno Tradition played several times throughout the weekend. These guys are serious bluegrass musicians who have really been around. We were honored to have them on our stage sharing their lifelong love of bluegrass music with us!
Larry Cordle and Lonesome Standard Time provided entertainment throughout the weekend, with an evening show on Friday and two shows on Saturday!

"King of Bluegrass" Jimmy Martin and the Sunny Mountain Boys entertained a pavilion full of fans Saturday night! Folks at the show, and those listening on KRVS 88.7 FM, were entertained with the talents of Jimmy and his band. Everyone also got a little dose of Jimmy and what he thinks of it ALL!
